At the Simmons firm, we are dedicated to our clients, our employees and our communities. We make it a priority to give back to the people and communities we represent and are one of the nation's leading contributors to mesothelioma cancer research. Additionally, we support a wide variety of organizations in Illinois, St. Louis, and throughout the nation, including the American Lung Association, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, Untied Way and more. 

Over $10 Million Donated to Cancer Research

The Simmons firm has pledged $10.2 million to fund a new cancer institute at Southern Illinois University (SIU). The institute is providing extraordinary new resources to enhance treatments and implement the continuing search for a permanent cure. It is the largest single gift in the history of SIU and will establish the university as home to one of the leading cancer facilities in the United States.

“We believe this is the only instance where a law firm has made such a sizable commitment in this area of vital medical research,” said John Simmons, founder of the Simmons firm. “The Simmons firm has been at the forefront in fighting for justice for cancer victims. Finding a Mesothelioma Cure

It is our hope that someday we won’t have any more clients diagnosed with mesothelioma, because this rare and deadly cancer will be a thing of the past.  These are not idle words or empty promises: we are leading supporters of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation and the International Mesothelioma Program.

In 2010 the firm launched the Simmons Mesothelioma Foundation, a private non-profit organization with a mission to help expert medical and scientific researchers make dramatic advances in mesothelioma treatment options for patients and their families. The firm is also the national sponsor of the Foundation's Miles for Meso fundraising event.

The Simmons Employee Foundation

In late 2004, the employees of the Simmons firm came together to create a single, streamlined way for them to give back to the communities they are so proud to call home.  The result of their creativity and heartfelt commitment, the Simmons Employee Foundation (SEF), now provides financial and volunteer support to local charitable organizations.
