Ted Gianaris:  I think from the outside looking in, it’s nearly impossible to understand or describe anybody who’s had a cancer diagnosis knows.

John Barnerd:  The first thing I talk to people about, the first thing I let them know is that we’re here to help.  And that what I’m doing isn’t near as important as what they’re going through.

Mike Angelides:  When you walk into someone’s living room and you see the kind of suffering that they’re experiencing, it doesn’t take long to hit you.  Pretty quickly you realize that you’re dealing with a very serious issue. You’re dealing with someone’s life and you’re the only person that can help them.

Amy Garrett:  It’s such an overwhelming piece of news that these people are getting that I feel like the role of an attorney sort of expands exponentially once we start representing them.

John Barnerd:  Whether we represent somebody or not we routinely help people find the care and treatment throughout the country no matter where they’re located so that they can receive the best care for mesothelioma.

Perry Browder:  We are really committed to a cure.  We have seen how this has affected families and we really feel that we need to practice what we preach.  We’re supportive of the Simmons Cooper Cancer Institute which is in Springfield, Illinois.

John Barnerd:  We also support the different foundations that are working to sure the disease.  We take great pride in supporting our community and the organizations that are trying to find a cure.

Mike Angelides:  It’s more than just court case.  It’s being involved in their lives helping with their treatments and helping them get on with their quality of life.

Perry Browder:  Nobody wants to bring a lawsuit but under the circumstances it’s the only way to help them out.  By going in there and treating them like family you can help get the information, you can make the process easier.  It’s not as formal and rigid but at the same time we have to encourage them and tell them how this is a fight.  As they’re fighting for their health and their survival to get more days with their family, they also have a fight on their hands to fight with these companies and we can help them do that.

John Barnerd:  I can advise them throughout the process. I can give them the benefit of my experience and judgment but at no time will I ask them to do something that they are not comfortable with or that interferes with their medical treatment or their family time.
