Get the Kids Involved in Miles for Meso This Year

miles for meso kidsThe Miles for Meso 5K isn’t just a race. The event will have multiple activities for the whole family, including the kids. When families come to the Miles for Meso event in Alton on Sept. 21, 2013, the kids can stay entertained by the many offerings of the Miles for Meso Kids’ Zone.

Some of the general activities that will be a part of this year’s Miles for Meso Kids’ Zone include:

  • A bouncy castle
  • Arcade games
  • Face and hair painting
  • Balloons
  • Photo booth (this is a fun activity for the whole family)
  • Pumpkin painting
  • Popcorn
  • Cotton candy
  • Prizes

This year, the McKendree University Cheerleading Squad will be volunteering to oversee the Kid Zone. With all of the fun ways kids can get involved in Miles for Meso, the event is sure to be a memorable, enjoyable time for the whole family.

Also, kids who participate in the Miles for Meso Kids’ Zone will win a Miles for Meso lunch sack. Adults will receive a burlap Miles for Meso reusable shopper tote that is made from recycled materials.

Presented by the Firm and coordinated by the Metro Tri Club, all proceeds from the event are donated to mesothelioma research. Last year’s Alton race raised about $25,000 for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.
