Be Safe - Crib Recall Safety Alert

October 21, 2008

Hi folks,

If you or a family member or friend have a baby at home, please take a minute to read the information below. There was recently a massive recall of baby cribs that anyone with an infant or toddler in a crib should know about.

Please take a minute to review the details from the Consumer Product Safety Commission below. As usual, I’ve attached a PDF that can be posted in a church, school or local community center.

I’ll be sharing the information with my close family and friends.

Take care, and Be Safe.

Be Safe Alert:  Two Infant Deaths Lead to Massive Crib Recall

Free Informational PDF About the Recall

Over 1.5 million Delta Enterprise Corp. drop side cribs have been recalled. This important safety recall comes after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Delta Enterprise Corp., found that 985,000 cribs were manufactured and packaged without safety pegs and an additional 600,000 cribs have a safety peg failure defect.

As of October 21, 2008, the CPSC reports there have been two infant deaths and two cases of entrapment. Details on the recall are listed below.

The missing safety pegs can lead to the disengagement and detachment of crib locks, creating a dangerous gap. The gap can cause entrapment and suffocation hazards to infants.

CPSC and Delta are urging parents and caregivers to immediately stop using these cribs and contact Delta to receive a free, easy-to-install repair kit. Call Delta toll-free at (800) 816-5304 anytime after 5 pm today or log on www.cribrecallcenter.com to order the free repair kit.
