The Simmons Firm Attorneys' Military Experience

All of the Simmons firm’s attorneys share a deep concern for the men and women who served in the armed services who are now sick due, in whole or in part, to their service to our country.  With determination and dependability – the same traits so critical for success in the military – our firm is committed to pursuing justice for all.

Several of our attorneys also have personal experience in the military, including:

John Simmons, Partner

Founding partner John Simmons joined the Army so he could pay for college. He served for two years as a combat engineer. John took very much to heart the slogan at the time, “We do more before 9 o’clock than most people do all day,” and when he started the firm, he kept this philosophy.

Brian Cooke

Brian served as a company commanding officer and a prosecutor in the United States Marine Corps. During his final year of active duty, Brian served in Baghdad where he was the first Western attorney to appear and argue before the Central Criminal Court of Iraq.

Brian received the Marine Corps Combat Action Ribbon and the Iraq War Campaign Ribbon for his exemplary service.

Chris Guinn

Chris spent four years in the US Air Force as a cryptologic linguistic apprentice. His position required him to work side-by-side with members from all four branches of the service. This gives him a unique level of insight into the culture of the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force and enables him to build stronger relationships with our clients who have military experience.

Mike Stewart

Mike Stewart cherishes his four years in the United States Marine Corps, both for the chance to stand up for his beliefs and for the valuable experience traveling the world. Mike was a radio operator assigned to an infantry regiment. His entire family has served in the military, with every branch represented by at least one family member.
