Asbestos Attorney Speaking at PA Environmental Justice Conference

The Simmons Hanly Conroy – one of the leading supporters of asbestos cancer research in the country – is a co-sponsor of Pennsylvania’s first statewide Environmental Justice Conference.  The Simmons Hanly Conroy shareholder and asbestos attorney Ted Gianaris will be speaking about the firm’s legal work with victims of asbestos exposure and the role of the impact of the legal system on environmental issues in the “Legal and Mediation Resources” session.  The conference takes place from April 26-28 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel in Harrisburg.

The conference organizers are the Environmental Justice Advisory Board and Office of Environmental Advocate within the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, along with Drexel University.  The theme of “Building Healthy & Improved Communities for All” draws residents of environmental justice communities; grassroots and community organizations; government officials; and members of non-governmental agencies, academia, public health, and the private sector.  The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection website has more details on the Environmental Justice Conference.

“As a law firm that specializes in fighting for victims of mesothelioma, we are intimately acquainted with environmental issues, particularly those surrounding asbestos exposure,” explained Simmons Hanly Conroy shareholder Ted Gianaris. “Consequently, we are steadfast proponents of the environmental justice and awareness this event promotes.  We are honored to participate at Pennsylvania’s first statewide Environmental Justice Conference.  We hope this conference is an essential step to more coordinated action in the fight for environmental justice not just in Pennsylvania, but throughout the U.S.”
