Firm Shareholder Robert W. Phillips has been selected along with only four other attorneys from across the nation by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas to serve on the Trust Advisory Committee for the ASARCO Asbestos Personal Injury Settlement Trust. Through its just-completed bankruptcy case, the ASARCO trust has been funded with approximately $1 billion to compensate victims of asbestos exposure for which ASARCO LLC and its affiliates bear responsibility.
As a member of the Trust Advisory Committee, Robert will serve in a fiduciary capacity to represent all holders of asbestos-related personal injury claims against the trust so their collective interests in trust assets are protected.
