Simmons Hanly Conroy Shareholder Named One of “40 under 40” Illinois Attorneys to Watch

John Barnerd joins short list of emerging attorneys to watch in Illinois

Simmons Hanly Conroy Shareholder John Barnerd has been named one of the 2010 “40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch” by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company, publishers of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin and Chicago Lawyer magazine.

The Selection Committee for this year’s list received over 1,000 nominations from around the world. The committee looked for young lawyers in Illinois who were intelligent, passionate and hard working, and had scores of successful verdicts, a desire to help the community and a willingness to work hard at their profession.

Barnerd joined the law firm over eight years ago, and in July 2009 his name was added to the letterhead with the firm changed its business name to Simmons Hanly Conroy, LLC.

In addition to having represented hundreds of families and individuals impacted by mesothelioma, Barnerd is a board member of the Simmons Employee Foundation, which has raised more than $500,000 for Illinois charities since 2004.

Barnerd and the rest of the 2010 “40 under 40 Illinois Attorneys to Watch” class will be honored at an awards banquet later this year.
