Jacqueline G. Badders

Jacqueline Badders is an attorney with Simmons Hanly Conroy. She joined the firm in 2021, focusing her practice on protecting the rights of mesothelioma victims in toxic tort, premises liability and product liability cases.

Guiding Clients Through the Process

As part of the Asbestos Department and a member of one of the firm’s trial teams, Jacqueline handles all aspects of cases, from commencement of the case through trial and appeals. She works to identify how clients have been exposed to asbestos and, importantly, which companies and which of their products caused each client’s exposure to asbestos. Details are key, as mesothelioma victims may have been exposed in a wide variety of ways, from a family member bringing home asbestos dust on their clothes, to personally working on machinery generating deadly asbestos dust or being in the presence of co-workers or others when they worked with asbestos-containing products.

Jacqueline brings more than 15 years of experience in asbestos litigation and is passionate about ensuring that corporations are held accountable for their actions that have impacted her clients.

“Having a track record of experience is vital to our clients’ cases,” she said. “This is such a difficult time in our clients’ lives – from the shock of receiving a tragic diagnosis to the intensive treatment that comes with this disease and palliative care that may follow. While I cannot relieve the suffering that our clients are experiencing, I give them comfort in knowing that someone is fighting with them – and for them.”

Jacqueline has a deep working knowledge of the factual and legal issues presented by asbestos cases through her extensive briefing and presentations in oral argument before courts at trial and appellate levels. She has also served as trial counsel in cases tried in both federal and state court. Additionally, Jacqueline has significant experience conducting depositions and working with leading experts in the field.

A History of Success

Jacqueline began her career as a law clerk for the Hon. Paul W. Grimm of the U.S. District Court for Maryland before moving into the field of asbestos litigation in 2007. She has been representing those harmed by asbestos for more than a dozen years. Before joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, she spent nearly a decade working for a Baltimore-based, nationally recognized asbestos firm focusing on achieving justice for those suffering from mesothelioma.

Education and Background

Jacqueline received a B.A. from Virginia Tech, graduating magna cum laude as a Commonwealth Scholar. She received her J.D., with Honor, from the University of Maryland School of Law in December 2003, graduating early.
