Firm Shareholder Michael Angelides Featured in St. Louis Business Journal

243037-0-0-1The latest edition of the St. Louis Business Journal features a candid interview with Simmons Hanly Conroy attorney and shareholder Michael Angelides about his experience representing victims of mesothelioma and asbestos exposure and his commitment to helping find a cure.  The article can be found on the St. Louis Business Journal’s Web site

Angelides is a St. Louis native that’s been with Simmons Hanly Conroy since 2001. In the interview with reporter Rick Desloge, Angelides talked about why he became an asbestos lawyer, taking on big business, and the growth of Simmons Hanly Conroy.

“I like representing the little guy against the big guy,” said Angelides. “The majority of litigation in the U.S. is business versus business. This is not money that mom and pop corporations are taking out of their pockets to pay for any of this.”

When asked about Simmons Hanly Conroy’s role in supporting cancer research, Angelides had this to offer: “If you’ve ever met anyone with mesothelioma or seen a video of someone suffering from mesothelioma, you would never question that this person is seriously hurt and something needs to be done about it. We really believe in giving back to this cause. This is a very rare disease. It ranks very low against other cancers in terms of priority funding and research grants. So if the private sector doesn’t step up and help on mesothelioma research, it isn’t going to happen.”
