EAST ALTON, Ill., January 6, 2009 – The Simmons Hanly Conroy today announced the appointment of two new Shareholders, Myles Epperson and Michael Stewart. Epperson and Stewart provide the proven experience required to help further the commitment of Simmons Hanly Conroy’s fight against asbestos-related diseases, including mesothelioma.
“Epperson and Stewart have been key players in fighting for the rights of individuals exposed to asbestos inside and outside the courtroom, helping hundreds of individuals and families injured by exposure to asbestos,” said Chairman and CEO John Simmons. “They will provide great value as Simmons Hanly Conroy continues to fight for victims of asbestos-related diseases and their families, as well as generate awareness, increase education, and help raise funds for research to find better care and hopefully a cure for mesothelioma.”
Epperson joined the firm in 2002 as an attorney and works directly with patients and families affected by mesothelioma, a rare cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. He graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University School of Law in Carbondale, Illinois in 1996.
Stewart, who joined Simmons in 2004 as an attorney, also focuses his practice on helping families affected by asbestos exposure. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and was also honored with a Meritorious Mast Award on three separate occasions. He graduated from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois in 1995.
