Simmons Shareholders Present on Cutting-Edge Issues in Asbestos Litigation at Conference

Simmons Hanly Conroy Shareholders Perry Browder and Randy Cohn will present during the “Cutting-Edge Issues in Asbestos Litigation” conference, an event presented by Perrin Conference on March 18-19 in California.

browderBrowder will participate in a panel titled “The Top Emerging Trends in 2013 Asbestos Litigation.” Participants will review new and emerging filing trends for mesothelioma and lung cancer cases, how regionalization affects new case filings and the duty of a premise owner in a take home asbestos exposure case.

Browder is the head of the asbestos department at the Firm. He has dedicated his career to mesothelioma victims and their families. A veteran of more than 200 mesothelioma cases, Perry has played a key role in some of the largest verdicts in the country, including a $250 million verdict against U.S. Steel.

The following day, Cohn will present in a panel about jurisdictional updates. He and the panel participants will address updates in California, D.C., Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Missouri and Virginia.

cohnSince 2004, Cohn has represented hundreds of mesothelioma victims and their families around the United States and recovered millions of dollars on their behalf. He recently secured a $2.86 million asbestos verdict against RT Vanderbilt, the largest asbestos verdict against a single defendant in Delaware in over a decade.
