Brent Zadorozny serves as Of Counsel at Simmons Hanly Conroy. As a mesothelioma lawyer, he has an extensive background handling asbestos and mesothelioma matters, as well as non-asbestos injury litigation. He has helped secure millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients.
“I’ve had the opportunity to work with many clients in other areas, but none are as wonderful as mesothelioma clients. It is humbling to know the difference our firm makes for them,” Brent said.
An Attorney Who Believes in his Clients
Brent’s communication with his clients is the most important part of his job. He recognizes how Simmons Hanly Conroy gives him an opportunity to assist and comfort people who are facing great anxiety and stress with a mesothelioma diagnosis. His leadership style focuses on constant contact with clients and being available to them whenever they have questions. This includes providing them with his personal cell phone number.
As lead attorney, Brent’s role is to help his clients through every step of the often emotional process of a trial and to listen to their needs. He makes informed legal decisions to take the best care of his hard-working clients.
“The cases can move very fast, and we have to be close with our clients. It can be intense, but it is crucial in order to let a jury know who these people really are,” Brent said.
Brent tells his clients they can call him any time about anything. He means it. One family recently called Brent for help after their loved one passed away. The body was being examined, preventing the family from holding the funeral. Brent helped get the body released, so the funeral could take place.
“Above all, my job is about helping my clients,” Brent said. “They come first.”
Proven Success in Fighting for Justice
Brent has helped hundreds of mesothelioma patients and their families secure justice. One recent case where Brent served as the lead trial attorney was the case of an Iranian refugee named Walice. He lived in California, was married and the father of two children. In 2014, Walice received a diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma.
Before the Iranian Revolution and his escape to the United States, Walice worked as a pipefitter in oil refineries in Iran and South Africa. Here, he was exposed to asbestos. One of the refineries had headquarters in California and was a defendant in Walice’s case. After 39 days of trial, Brent secured a settlement for Walice and the justice he deserved as a hard-working man trying to provide for his family.
“Walice defeated the odds, the dangers in Iran,” Brent said. “We ended up with a substantial settlement. Their story is just amazing.”
Brent’s experience also includes an $8.7 million asbestos trial verdict in Los Angeles Superior Court. He has successfully arbitrated various matters in non-U.S. jurisdictions, including Sweden and the Bahamas.
