At Simmons Hanly Conroy, Sean Murley is a highly accomplished plaintiff’s attorney in the Asbestos Department. With an impressive legal career spanning over 20 years, Sean has extensive experience in various practice areas, including corporate law, criminal law, probate, estate planning and real estate law.

While most of his legal experience has been in public service, running his own law practice in the past gave Sean an appreciation for what it really means to provide client-centered representation.

“What I like most about my job is being able to make a difference in the lives of my clients,” Sean explained. “I became an attorney in order to help people, even if just by making a difficult time easier for them and their family.”

One of Sean’s notable strengths lies in his ability to identify and address his clients’ needs, consistently going above and beyond to surpass their expectations. He is committed to providing high-quality legal representation and ensuring his clients’ best interests are protected.

His Legal Background

Before joining the firm, Sean was an associate at HeplerBroom LLC, handling various aspects of corporate law, probate, estate planning and real estate law. He helped clients with important business transactions, real estate matters and planning for their future.

Prior to that, Sean served as an Assistant State’s Attorney at the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office, supervising a team of three lawyers and five support staff. He represented the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services in determining parentage, setting child support, and collecting overdue support payments.

Before that, Sean ran his own practice called the Southern Illinois Legal Services. As owner, he advised clients on a variety of legal matters, including criminal law, family law and estate planning.

His guidance on various human resource (HR) policies, HIPAA compliance, anti-kickback laws and more proved invaluable to businesses and clients.
