7th Annual Simmons Employee Foundation Golf Tournament Supports Fallen, Wounded Military Heroes

All Proceeds to Benefit the Joshua Chamberlain Society

Alton, Ill., June 6, 2011 – The Simmons Employee Foundation has selected the Joshua Chamberlain Society to benefit from the 7th Annual Simmons Employee Foundation Golf Tournament, which will take place June 17 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville.

The Chamberlain Society is a St. Louis-area nonprofit organization dedicated to helping severely wounded military service members and the families of military members killed in action. Past service projects include bathroom and other renovations to make injured soldiers’ homes more accessible, transportation to and from doctor appointments, and other projects to improve service members’ quality of life.

The tournament, organized in a 4-person scramble format, will take place Friday, June 17. Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Registration costs $100 per player or $400 per foursome. Entry fees include green fees, cart rental, lunch or dinner, soda or beer on the course and a complimentary gift. One hundred percent of the net proceeds will benefit the Chamberlain Society.

Cash prizes will be awarded to first and second place teams in each flight. Teams paid by June 10 will be entered in a drawing to win four St. Louis Cardinals baseball tickets.
