Mesothelioma Victim and Former Worthington Repairman Receives $5.7 Million Mesothelioma Settlement

A Simmons Hanly Conroy mesothelioma lawyer recently negotiated settlements totaling $5.7 million on behalf of a former traveling repairman for Worthington Corporation, a long-bankrupt asbestos company that manufactured pumps, compressors, turbines and other industrial equipment. The man, 70, filed a lawsuit after being diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma, a deadly cancer caused by asbestos that attacks the lining of the lungs (pleura).

Throughout his career he worked at dozens of plants all around the United States, Canada, Mexico, India, and Europe. During that time and in these various locations, he was exposed to asbestos through industrial machinery, equipment, insulation and other products. He was also exposed during his years as a professional auto mechanic prior to his career at Worthington.
