Simmons Hanly Conroy, one of the nation’s largest mass tort firms and a national leader in the legal representation of mesothelioma patients and their families, has elevated firm attorneys Jared Hausmann, Olivia P. Kelly and An Truong to Shareholder, effective Jan. 1.

“We are very proud of Jared, Olivia and An, and we enthusiastically welcome them as new Shareholders at Simmons Hanly Conroy,” said Larry Nassif, Managing Shareholder of the firm. “All three have demonstrated exceptional skills and accomplishments for our clients that merit recognition and anticipation for continued success and leadership in their new roles.”

Based in the firm’s Alton, Illinois office, Hausmann focuses his practice on helping individuals and their families who have been affected by mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer caused by asbestos exposure. His practice concentrates on motions, defendant discovery and appeals.

Before joining the firm in 2016, Hausmann worked for two years as a law clerk in the staff attorney’s office of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He received his J.D. (magna cum laude) from St. Louis University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from Eastern Illinois University.

Based in the firm’s New York City office, Kelly also focuses on helping individuals and families affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. A litigator, she concentrates primarily on motions and appellate practice.

Kelly joined Simmons Hanly Conroy in 2018 after serving as a senior appellate court attorney for the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department in Brooklyn, New York. The Second Department hears appeals from all trial courts in 10 counties of lower New York state. She received her J.D. from City University of New York School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) from State University of New York at Purchase.

She concentrates her practice on advocating for the rights of consumers against large corporations, including class actions involving product liability, consumer fraud and data privacy violations. Currently, she holds leadership positions in several nationwide complex legal actions.

Before joining Simmons Hanly Conroy in 2018, Truong worked as a senior appellate court attorney with the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division. Previously, she also was a senior attorney with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services, where she litigated complex child abuse and neglect cases, and managed and trained junior attorneys.
