Attorney J. M. LeCointre is a partner at Simmons Hanly Conroy LLP, where he focuses his practice on helping individuals and families impacted by asbestos-related diseases like mesothelioma.

J.M. helps prepare cases for trial by investigating corporate histories and liabilities. He researches and drafts summary judgment motions and oppositions, motions in limine and jury instructions.

“Every client is unique and has a different story to tell,” J. M. said. “While the law focuses on a client’s career dealing with an injury-causing event or exposure, that single aspect of a client’s story is not all we focus on. We spend time with each client to discover how we can best pursue his or her case, while helping with the difficulties brought on by asbestos-related cancer.”

J. M. received his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. He graduated with a J. D., with distinction, in 2011. While in law school, J.M. worked as a judicial extern for the Hon. Judge Kimberly J. Mueller in the Eastern District of California and was a managing editor and a primary editor for the McGeorge Law Review. In addition, he published “Following Doctors’ Orders” in 2010 in the McGeorge Law Review.

J. M. is a member of the California, Illinois and Missouri Bar Associations. He also belongs to the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Madison County Bar Association and Tri City Bar Association.

“In my day-to-day duties as an attorney, I try to remember the advice given to me by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy: ‘The right to practice law exists to protect and serve the best interests of those who cannot obtain justice by themselves,’” J. M. said.
