Forbes recognizes Conroy among the nation’s most accomplished attorneys for her leadership and impact in class actions and mass tort litigation
ALTON, Ill. – Simmons Hanly Conroy announced that attorney and named partner Jayne Conroy has been named to Forbes’ 2026 Top Women Lawyers list in the Class Actions & Mass Torts category. The firm is one of the nation’s largest mesothelioma and asbestos litigation firms and a leader in mass torts and class actions, dedicated to holding corporations responsible for wrongdoing.
The inaugural list recognizes women attorneys who have demonstrated exceptional legal achievement, leadership, client impact, and influence within the profession. Honorees were selected through a rigorous evaluation process that assessed factors including notable litigation, leadership, client impact, professional recognition, and contributions to the legal industry.
With more than four decades of legal experience, Conroy has established herself as one of the nation’s leading plaintiff attorneys. Through her leadership of Simmons Hanly Conroy’s Complex Litigation Department and her work in some of the country’s most significant mass tort and class action matters, she has helped shape the landscape of plaintiff-side litigation while securing justice for individuals, families, and communities harmed by corporate wrongdoing.

Conroy oversees Simmons Hanly Conroy’s Complex Litigation Department. Under her leadership, the organization has become one of the country’s largest plaintiff law firms dedicated to helping those injured by corporate wrongdoing. Throughout her career, she has helped secure billions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of individuals, families, and communities across the country.
Among her recent leadership appointments, Conroy serves as co-lead of the National Prescription Opiate Multidistrict Litigation. This nationwide litigation has achieved over $60 billion in settlements for communities throughout the country. She was also named to the Plaintiff’s Executive Committee in the Camp Lejeune Water Litigation, which alleges drinking water may have been contaminated with toxic chemicals that can cause multiple types of cancer, birth defects, Parkinson’s disease and more.
