Simmons Hanly Conroy Asbestos Shareholder Courtney Gregory Selected as a Missouri Lawyers Weekly ‘Up & Coming’ Lawyer for 2018ALTON, Ill. – Simmons Hanly Conroy is pleased to announce Courtney Gregory, a Shareholder in the firm’s Asbestos Department, has been named to Missouri Lawyer Weekly’s 2018 list of “Up & Coming” lawyers.

“Courtney’s dedication to her clients is readily seen both inside and outside of the courtroom,” said Mike Angelides, Managing Shareholder at Simmons Hanly Conroy. “This dedication, coupled with her tenacity and proficiency in all areas of a case, make her both a formidable opponent and a respected colleague. She is a deserving recipient of Missouri Lawyer Weekly’s ‘Up & Coming’ recognition, and we are proud to have her on our side.”

Gregory is one of 45 attorneys across the state whom Missouri Lawyers Weekly staff selected for the honor this year. Their selection was based on the attorneys’ demonstration of excellence and their potential to make a difference in the legal profession and their communities. The award recipients are age 40 or younger or are within their first 10 years of practice.

Gregory not only brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the courtroom, she becomes an extension of the families she fights for. She is known to sit bedside with clients in hospital rooms, volunteer in non-profit events to help raise money for the cancer they have, and routinely delivers the monetary justice they deserve.

After a nearly 10-year tenure at Simmons Hanly Conroy, Gregory now handles all areas of an individual asbestos case in multiple courts around the country. Her mastery of all aspects related to an asbestos case helped propel her to Shareholder in early 2017. Her proficiency behind-the-scenes has secured significant results for her clients, totaling hundreds of millions of dollars throughout her career. In the past two years alone, Gregory has spearheaded cases from beginning to end that have secured millions of dollars for her clients.

Gregory’s commitment to justice isn’t limited to the clients she represents with Simmons Hanly Conroy. She is an active member of several legal organizations and has provided legal services pro bono through the Madison County Legal Clinic and other organizations. She also donates her time to the firm’s “Second Chance Saturday” expungement event in Madison County. Created in 2016, “Second Chance Saturday” has helped hundreds of people expunge or seal their criminal records, giving them the opportunity to secure employment and housing not available to them before.
