ALTON, Illinois  – As a leading mesothelioma law firm, Simmons Hanly Conroy is proud to announce its support of the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) through the renewal of its $100,000 platinum sponsorship for 2021. This year’s sponsorship brings the cumulative amount donated to ADAO by the firm and its foundations, including its Miles for Meso races, to more than $1 million.

“Once again, we stand with the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization and its mission to advocate for those whose lives are forever changed because of preventable asbestos exposure,” said Chairman John Simmons. “ADAO’s work to prevent and eliminate mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases through prevention and advocacy efforts is a critical piece in the fight against asbestos, and our firm is proud to be a dedicated partner to organizations like ADAO that are making a difference in the lives of asbestos victims and their families.”

Simmons Hanly Conroy is the longest consecutive sponsor of ADAO and its annual conference, supporting at the highest level for 10 years.

“Simmons Hanly Conroy’s unwavering and generous support allows us to continue to spread awareness about the dangers of asbestos, advocate for a global asbestos ban and support the community of asbestos disease victims,” said ADAO Co-Founder and CEO Linda Reinstein. “John Simmons and his law firm Simmons Hanly Conroy are truly appreciated and respected throughout our ADAO community. Together, change is possible.”

Reinstein, who lost her husband Alan to mesothelioma, started ADAO in 2004 with her co-founder, the late Doug Larkin, who lost his father-in-law to mesothelioma. Today, ADAO is the largest U.S.-based independent asbestos victims’ organization. The group has been frequently called on to speak to Congress, health care providers, national and international organizations, and families about the deadly legacy of asbestos and the urgent need for a global ban on asbestos.

Simmons Hanly Conroy, who represents more families filing mesothelioma lawsuits than any other asbestos law firm in the country, has supported ADAO since 2007, the first year a sponsorship was available. The firm was an educational sponsor and bought asbestos awareness wristbands for the organization to distribute during its conference and advocacy efforts.

The firm’s 2021 $100,000 sponsorship supports the ADAO’s Annual 16th International Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, which will take place virtually in September. As a leading mesothelioma law firm with a mission to support those affected by asbestos-related diseases, Simmons Hanly Conroy has also donated more than $20 million to cancer research and support — more than any other plaintiff law firm in the country.
