With a diverse background in civil litigation, Drake brings a broad perspective and proven experience to his role at Simmons Hanly Conroy.

He has handled over 25 cases in the 10th Judicial District Court of Kansas, covering topics ranging from personal injury and class actions to contract disputes and constitutional law.

Today, Drake focuses on assisting with discovery, preparing plaintiff fact sheets, and performing in-depth legal analysis for complex litigation, including cases like:

  • Insulin price fixing, where companies are accused of artificially inflating insulin prices, leaving individuals with diabetes or prediabetes struggling to afford the medication they need
  • Cash sweep litigation, which challenges financial institutions for unreasonably low interest rates on cash sweep accounts

What Drake enjoys most about his work is the collaboration that comes with mass torts and complex litigation. He appreciates being able to contribute meaningfully to every stage of a case and values helping clients navigate challenging legal matters.

Background & Experience

Drake earned his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois Springfield, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2020.

While there, he was a member of the mock trial team, competed in track and field, and received the Brother Gaffney Award for outstanding student-athletes. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2023.

Before joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, Drake clerked for civil and family law judges at the Johnson County Kansas District Court.

He also spent over a year working in the emerging field of biolaw, focusing on the legal ramifications of genomic editing, CRISPR technologies, de-extinction, and other cutting-edge scientific advancements.
