Julia B. Gordon

Attorney Julia B. Gordon focuses her practice on mass torts and complex litigation. She currently works with the firm’s opioid litigation team in New York.

Julia participates in all stages of litigation: discovery, depositions, and trial. She uses her investigative skills to uncover corporate histories and conduct, which allows her to find critical facts to develop case criteria and strategy. Julia is committed to helping those harmed by negligent companies or institutions, ensuring they feel heard, informed, and supported throughout the legal process.

“I became an attorney because I believe everyone deserves a fair outcome, regardless of their circumstances,” said Julia. “I was drawn to the law as a system designed to level the playing field, a place where facts and reason should prevail over power or privilege.”

She brings a wide range of experience to her practice, including:

• Representing over 4,000 video game addiction clients and serving as Co-Chair of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Internet Gaming Addiction Litigation Group
• Advocating for survivors of institutional sexual abuse and trafficking
• Prosecuting violent crime as a former Assistant District Attorney and Supervisor of the Violent Criminal Enterprise Bureau at the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office
• Supporting commercial matters and pharmaceutical mass tort litigation (In re: Levaquin Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 1943)

Julia’s varied background has made her a diligent, organized, and thorough litigator. It’s this combination of skill and heart that allows her to connect with clients on a personal level, all while fighting relentlessly on their behalf.

Background & Experience

Julia graduated cum laude from Brandeis University with a B.A. in History and Sociology. She went on to earn her master’s degree in Sociology and Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College before beginning law school.

At George Washington University Law School, Julia graduated with honors, earning her J.D. along with the Award for Excellence in Pre-Trial and Trial Advocacy and the ABA/BNA Award for Excellence in the Field of Health Law.

Prior to joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, Julia served as a shareholder and senior trial counsel at a mass tort and personal injury law firm.
