Thank you for being a part of the Miles for Meso community and the 9th Annual Alton Miles for Meso 5K Run & 3K Fun Run/Walk. This year’s race had a record turnout, and we’re thankful to everyone who took part in the day’s festivities.
Here is some additional information regarding post-race results and how you can continue to be involved.
This year the race raised $30,000 for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), a non-profit dedicated to securing a global ban of asbestos and providing support to victims of asbestos-related diseases.
The top three team fundraisers for this year’s race are:
- Georgie Porgie’s Meso Patrol
- “#ENDMeso” Team
- The Friends and Family of Virgil E. Williams
Congratulations to the winners of this year’s race. Keith Meyer, of Bloomington, Illinois placed first overall in the men’s division with a time of 15:10. Jackie Pirtle-Hall, of St. Charles, Missouri, placed first overall in the women’s division with a time of 17:13.

Share Your Story
As a show of solidarity and community, ADAO highlights the stories of those who have been affected by asbestos through their “Share Your Story” feature on their website. If you are a mesothelioma warrior, consider sharing your story with others battling asbestos-related illness.
