Our previous experience representing mesothelioma victims in Washington is important because it means we are familiar with Washington job sites where asbestos exposure occurred. Asbestos is a deadly mineral that has been used in thousands of products in multiple industries. When asbestos fibers are inhaled or ingested they increase a person’s risk of contracting an asbestos-related disease like mesothelioma.
Our Washington mesothelioma lawyers have helped past clients identify their asbestos exposures and they are ready to help you and your family as well.

In 1954, Walter Twidwell joined the Navy as a boiler tender and fireman. He conducted maintenance and repairs in engine and fire rooms of vessels ported in New York, California and Washington, until he retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1973.
During his 20 years of service, Walter worked with Goodyear gaskets, which contained asbestos, and was diagnosed with mesothelioma as a result. Although the company knew asbestos exposure posed health risks, it failed to warn those who worked with its asbestos-containing gaskets of these risks.
By working with our mesothelioma lawyers in Washington, Walter was able to hold Goodyear accountable for its corporate negligence and secure financial compensation for his medical expenses.
“I appreciate the hard work of the Simmons firm. This outfit is something else. I did not expect to hear from them after everything was done, but they still call to check up on me.”
More testimonialsMiles for Meso is a 5K race to raise awareness about mesothelioma and the dangers of asbestos exposure while bringing together a community of those affected by asbestos-related diseases. In 2009, Simmons Hanly Conroy hosted the first race at the firm’s national headquarters in Alton, Illinois, and the firm is a national presenting sponsor of the race to this day. Since that first race, 10 other states have held Miles for Meso races, including one in the Federal Way area of Washington.
“The whole run and the purpose of it is to bring awareness to the community,” says Diana Stewart, Washington Miles for Meso race director. “[Mesothelioma] is hard to pronounce, hard to spell, hard to treat. So we’re trying to educate…the community about asbestos and how it affects people — and perhaps a cure can be found.”
The first WA Miles for Meso 5K Memorial Run/Walk was in 2012. More than 100 people came to the first race and raised approximately $12,000 for the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation. The WA Miles for Meso Run/Walk is held during the Fourth of July weekend at the Federal Way Community Center. Miles for Meso has raised over $800,000 for mesothelioma research in total so far.
