Simmons Hanly Conroy Attorney Philip Proud Elevated to Partner

ALTON, Illinois – Simmons Hanly Conroy LLP, one of the nation’s largest mass torts firms and a national leader in the legal representation of mesothelioma patients and their families, is pleased to announce that firm attorney Philip E. Proud has been elevated to partner, effective Oct. 23.

Based in the firm’s Alton office, Proud focuses his practice on representing clients in cases against asbestos companies that have harmed American workers and families through asbestos exposure.

He has first-chair trial experience and has litigated numerous cases across the country in various state and federal jurisdictions, successfully securing millions of dollars on his clients’ behalf. His trial accomplishments include a $20 million mesothelioma verdict for a Missouri mechanic and his wife against an automobile manufacturer.

Prior to joining Simmons Hanly Conroy, Proud represented clients in cases involving personal injury, the Federal Employers’ Liability Act, the Jones Act, product liability, mass torts and class actions.

Proud received his J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.
