NEW YORK – Simmons Hanly Conroy, a national leader in the legal representation of mesothelioma patients and their families, was pleased to again sponsor the Precious Dreams Foundation’s Laughter and Lullabies Gala. The 14th annual event was held Oct. 21 at Current, a waterfront venue at New York City’s Chelsea Piers.
Simmons Hanly Conroy has sponsored the event every year since 2020. As a Shooting Star Sponsor for 2025, the firm was well-represented and honored to further the foundation’s goal of helping youth in foster care and homeless shelters uncover paths to nurturing their dreams.
“This event was equal parts encouraging and educational,” said Simmons Hanly Conroy Managing Partner Laurence V. Nassif, who attended the gala. “I learned the staggering statistics about youth in need. Over 4 million children and young adults experience homelessness every year in the U.S., and there are more than 400,000 children in foster care. What a privilege to support these youth through our partnership with Precious Dreams Foundation.”
Precious Dreams Foundation provides sleep support and teaches healthy coping mechanisms to youth who are entering, exiting, and transitioning through foster care and temporary housing arrangements. Proceeds from the fundraiser enable the organization to continue providing resources, crucial services, and enriching programs such as the following:
- Care bags filled with coping tools, including plush items, journals, and blankets
- Workshops focused on wellbeing activities like yoga, guided meditation, art therapy, and journaling
- Humble Dreams Alliance, which empowers teens and young adults transitioning from foster care and temporary housing to succeed in higher education and entrepreneurial pursuits
- Complimentary shopping at the Comfort Shop in midtown Manhattan, an experience that helps to change the way children experience their first day in foster care
“I am proud to practice at a firm that prioritizes incredible causes such as this one,” said Simmons Hanly Conroy Partner John B. Wetmore, who also represented the firm at the gala. “Precious Dreams Foundation’s work and impact are inspiring, and I look forward to seeing the ways in which we can, together, continue to bolster this rising generation of underserved youth.”
