NEW YORK – Simmons Hanly Conroy, one of the nation’s largest law firms focused on mass tort litigation, is pleased to announce six attorneys in the firm’s New York office have been named 2019 New York Metro Super Lawyers.

Firm Shareholders Jayne Conroy, Andrea Bierstein, Mitchell Breit, and Of Counsel Clint Fisher are listed as Super Lawyers for Class Action & Mass Torts. Shareholder Paul Hanly Jr. and Assistant Managing Shareholder Larry Nassif are listed as a Super Lawyer in the Products Liability category.

Hanly has more than 30 years of legal experience. He now represents plaintiffs in a variety of mass tort and other complex civil cases. He’s been named to multiple court-appointed leadership roles, including co-lead counsel in the national opioid litigation pending in Cleveland, Ohio. This federal multidistrict litigation is regarded as the largest and most complex litigation in U.S. history.

Conroy has held multiple court-appointed leadership roles of national scope in litigation against pharmaceutical companies brought by consumers harmed by dangerous drugs. With more than 30 years of legal experience, she focuses on various complex civil cases, representing plaintiffs in a wide variety of products liability matters. She also served as one of two interim, co-lead counsel for the proposed negotiation class for the Opioid MDL.

Nassif focuses his practice on asbestos and mesothelioma litigation, pharmaceutical mass torts, and other complex personal injury cases. As an assistant managing Shareholder, he helps to continue the firm’s standard of excellence as part of the management team.

Bierstein is a Shareholder with more than three decades of legal experience. She is one of the premier appellate brief-writers and oral advocates in the country.

Breit focuses his practice on consumer class actions and mass torts of national scope with a career spanning 38 years.

Fisher, who was a Shareholder at the firm until 2017, has more than 30 years of litigation experience. He focuses his practice on mass torts in the pharmaceutical and medical device areas and has held a number of leadership positions in MDLs and state consolidated proceedings.
