The honorable 40 Under 40 Award is presented by The National Trial Lawyers organization. This award extends an invitation into the 40 Under 40 professional organization to its recipients. The invitation-only professional organization consists of the top 40 trial lawyers from each state as well as highly populated areas within certain states. The selections are based off of a combination of peer nominations and third party research.

40 Under 40 Requirements and Mission
Membership is exclusively offered to trial lawyers who practice civil plaintiff and/or criminal defense law. The National Trial Lawyers website informs that “Invitees must exemplify superior qualifications, trial results, and leadership as a young lawyer under the age of 40.”
The purpose of a trial lawyer is to help the powerless by holding corporations responsible. The mission of the 40 Under 40 organization is centered on cultivating a networking opportunity for the finest young trial lawyers in America. These attorneys are expected to seek justice through their progressive ideas. The organization is also invested in protecting the right to trial by jury in an unbiased court. These values are similar to the Simmons Hanly Conroy mission to ensure its clients have the right to a strong voice in court.
