Suffolk County Retains Simmons Hanly Conroy To Pursue Opiate Litigation

Consumer Protection Law Firm will Represent New York County against Pharmaceutical Companies that Aggressively Marketed Prescription Opiates

NEW YORK – Simmons Hanly Conroy, LLC, one of the nation’s largest law firms focused on consumer protection and mass tort actions, has been retained by Suffolk County legislators to represent the county against pharmaceutical companies that aggressively marketed prescription opiates. The litigation will be spearheaded by Simmons Hanly Conroy Named Shareholders Paul Hanly and Jayne Conroy.

Simmons Hanly Conroy will work with Suffolk County legislators to further investigate the impact the over-prescription of opiates has had on the county’s health insurance plan, treatment programs and more.

“We are pleased to have been selected by the legislators in Suffolk County to represent the county in this litigation,” said Hanly. “We are all too familiar with the questionable practices of certain opiate manufacturers. Litigation is not a quick process, but we are prepared to seek the best procedural course for the county in a manner that is both effective and efficient.”

Both Hanly and Conroy have held court-appointed leadership roles of national scope in litigation against pharmaceutical companies brought by consumers harmed by dangerous drugs.
